Ladies Day

Due to various problems, not least the possible reluctance of an audience to attend the confines of the village hall, it has been decided that this production will be postponed until 2022.

Plans for 2021

The Eydon Players Committee have been hard at work planning productions for 2021 seeing as we were unable to perform anything this year and we have found a lovely script for a Summer Play called 'Ladies Day' by Amanda Whittington.
An exuberant comedy about four likely lasses from the Hull fish docks on a day trip to the races, from the author of 'Be My Baby'.

Work, love and life are just one long, hard slog for the fish-filleting foursome Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda, but their fortunes are set to change when Linda finds tickets to Ladies' Day at Royal Ascot the year it relocated to York. Out go the hairnets, overalls and wellies as the four ditch work, do themselves up to the nines and head off to the races for a drink, a flirt and a flutter. If their luck holds, they could hit the jackpot - and more besides...

The script has 4 female roles and up to 6 male roles (This could be done with 1 actor doubling up or 6 separate people). Ladies Day falls on Thursday 17th June next year so we thought it would be nice to perform the play over that weekend to coincide! It is unclear what the restrictions will be at that point so we are considering various options so it may be a bit different to our usual productions but no less enjoyable!
